About Dr. Keller
Dr. Keller’s research and clinical interests center on how a child’s learning profile can guide more effective intervention. She has built her career around helping families to understand how their child learns, and how that knowledge can be used to support emotional well-being, school success, and daily functioning. Her dissertation examined the relationship between children’s anxiety and their performance on neuropsychological tests—insights she uses routinely in her own practice to help children feel comfortable, confident, and engaged during evaluation. She has published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on pediatric anxiety, tic disorders, psychosis-risk screening, integrated primary care, and chronic pain.
Dr. Keller is committed to improving access to evidence-based mental health care for children and families. She directs a doctoral training program in integrated primary care at Boston Community Pediatrics, supporting the delivery of behavioral health services within the pediatric medical setting. She also teaches cognitive behavioral therapy to doctoral trainees at Cambridge Health Alliance / HMS.
Outside of her day job, Allie lives in Newton, MA with her husband and three spirited children—who provide daily opportunities to refine (or completely ignore) the parenting strategies she so often recommends. She moonlights as a Kindergarten soccer coach and is actively involved in her community’s Wait Until 8 Program.
For Kids: Meet Allie!
Allie is a clinical neuropsychologist, which means she helps kids learn more about how their brains work — how they think, learn, and feel. Fun fact: before becoming a psychologist, Allie studied sharks! But she decided that working with kids was even more interesting than swimming with ocean predators. She loves helping families understand how kids’ brains work and turning complicated brain science into ideas that actually make everyday life easier.
